EverLoNG at IMO CCC 9

The EverLoNG project has been presented by our partner Erik Vroegrijk of Lloyd’s Register at the International Maritime Organisation’s Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers 9. The aim was to inspire the delegations to set up fair regulations and good guidance for ship-based carbon capture, by showcasing how close the technology is to full-scale implementation.

The attending delegations showed great interest in the work and posed interesting questions regarding the legal status of CO2 (product or waste), the maturity of the capture technology, the full CO2 life cycle, as well as the economic aspects of capturing CO2 onboard.
